WOW!  What a way to kick off the 2008 season!  A streak ended in North Lima.  The Tigers proved everyone wrong by beating an All-American Conference foe.  The Blue Jays showed that they may be A LOT better than anyone thought, and the Rebels won a nailbitter in overtime.
South Range's 32 regular season unbeaten streak is snapped with a 29-28 loss.  The Raiders, who trailed 21-7 had a great fourth quarter comeback, however Tuslaw would score with under a minute left in the game to win.
Crestview would beat a very solid Monroe Central team 20-19 in overtime, while Western Reserve would sneak past a terrific Mathews squad 28-27 in what may have been the best game of the night.
Springfield beat Struthers 24-7, when most people probably would have picked the Wildcats to win the contest.  Jackson-Milton hammered Windham 30-8 to give coach McGlynn his first victory, and Wellsville rolled all over Strasburg 60-3.
On the disappointing side, Sebring had a great offensive effort, but fell short in their bid to win by dropping a 34-48 loss to Conotton Valley.  Lowellville would also lose as they were beaten by a very good Malvern team 13-49.  United also fell as they lost to Minerva 0-47. A depleted Mineral Ridge team played tough, but came up short to perennial state power Mogadore 7-27.
Saturday will feature two more ITCL teams as McDonald plays Youngstown Christian, and Columbiana travel to Steubenville Central Catholic.  Make sure to check back with ITCLFootball.net for reports on these game.

Columbiana beat state power-house Steubenville Central Catholic in impressive fashion Saturday night 27-13.  The game featured a 50-yard field goal by the Clippers.  The win gives the ITCL a 9-7 week #1 non-conference record.
