2010 ITCL Preview
The season is new and the league is set to kickoff what may be one of the most competitive years in it's short history of existance.  Both 2009 champions Crestview and McDonald have lost some outstanding players due to graduation, and numerous other stand out athletes have moved on from some of the top teams in the ITCL from last year.  Who will be the best in the league in 2010?  There are always some favorites, but the one thing that is a sure bet is that in the next ten weeks we will be treated to some great games, some great players, and some great performances.
Both the Rebels and Blue Devils have to be mentioned as contenders again, but don't count out the Western Reserve Blue Devils, Mineral Ridge, Leetonia, Columbiana, Lowellville, and United squads.  All of these teams look to make a push to be recognized as league contenders this year.  And it is with good reason.  They all have some experience, and some talented playmakers that will make Friday nights exciting in our region.
But don't forget about some other teams such as East Palestine, Jackson-Milton, Lisbon, Sebring, South Range, Southern, Springfield, and Wellsville.  All of these teams have some experienced players returning this year, and want to make life very, very  difficult for those contenders.  They will not go down any week without putting up a real spirited fight.
It will be interesting to see how many ITCL teams will qualify for the playoffs, and what teams will surprise people in both the league, but also in the Mahoning and Ohio Valleys.  Don't be surprised if league winners in both teirs suffer at least one loss, and we could quite possibly end up with co-champions in both teirs.  Whatever the case, it should be one tremendous year to watch ITCL football.  Make sure you watch as many games as you can, and cheer on your home town team to victory every Friday night.
